This dessert wine reminds me of the elegance and succulence of a Sauternes with a more accessible price tag for everyday drinking.

If you are a Sauternes fan, this wine is definitely worth a shot; for the price, you will be pleasantly surprised. I was very impressed with how well balanced and delicately sweet the palate is.
On the nose, I get a lot of raisin, dried fig and a lingering aroma of Christmas cake and candied ginger. The candied ginger follows through to the palate along with added notes of the caramelized sugar you'd find on the top of crème brulee.
The finish lingers on and on and it would only make sense to pair this wine with crème brulee or Gorgonzola cheese. (Tasted Oct 2014)
